IREDD Empowers CBO Partners in Nimba County: Achievements in Advocacy and Women’s Leadership”

IREDD concludes one-day project meeting with CBO partners (Ganta Concern Women and Nakar) in Ganta, Nimba County.
The leadership of both CBOs during the meeting expressed gratitude to Democracy International (DI) and USAID/Liberia for the support provided that have enhanced the capacities of the organizations in advocacy engagement and women’s leadership.
As a result of the skills gained, the CBOs have achieved the following:
-Lobbied with local state actors for increased women’s leadership
-Two project beneficiaries ascended to new leadership positions in the new administration
-EDA project increased CBOs visibility in the City because of interventions on WPPL
-CBO partners confidence built to engage the media..held press conference that brought calm in the rising tension between Accelor Metal and workers in Nimba
