IREDD Town Hall Meeting with MIA and CBos on the Local Government Act Processes and Benefits

IREDD Conducts awareness on the Local Government Act in Nimba & Grand Gedeh
IREDD with support from UNDP-Liberia is conducting town Hall Meetings and talk show as well as the distribution of 2000 copies of fliers in four counties namely Nimba, Grand Gedeh, Bong and Lofa from the 12th of July to the 24th of July 2021 with two town meetings and one talk show in each county.The eight town hall meetings two in each county is targeting 40 CBOs, local authorities (Superintendent, City Majors, District Commissioners, Chief, Traditional leaders, County Gender Focus persons and the county service center coordinators) and key stakeholders.
The meeting is bringing together MIA, CBOs and other local stakeholders to increase their understanding in the Local Government Act of 2018 and discuss the processes implementation, structure, participation and benefits. The project is conducting four radio talk-shows within the four counties and bringing persons with experts on the Local Government Act to further provide information to the general public.
The radio talk show disseminated information about the project to the wider audience in distance location and other part of the four counties Also 2000 copies of fliers and reading materials with information to promote the general public understanding on the implementation of the Local Government Act, with emphasis on the processes, benefits, implementation and participation were distributed. As of date July 19, 2021, IREDD has conducted 5 town hall meeting, two radio talk show with the distribution of over 1400 copies of fliers in two of the four project counties namely Nimba and Grand Gedeh counties.In the coming days up to the 24th of July 2021, IREDD will conduct two radio talk show, three town hall meetings and distribution of 750 copies of fliers Voijama, Lofa & Bong County.
