IREDD Executive Director Matthias M. Yeanay was invited by UNDP and Organizers considering his expertise to speak as a panelist during the second African Business and Human Rights Forum ( ABHRF). Below are the objectives of the forum that were discussed from the 4th – 8th of September.
- To highlight the variety of impacts of extractive companies on
Human rights, the environment, and conflict dynamics in conflict-affected
areas in Africa. - To discuss challenges in preventing and addressing abuses.
- To
highlight emerging policy, legislative, and other initiatives at the
regional level (such as those developed by the WGEI), and at
the international level.
